Responding to the Chilean Earthquake
LCIF is committed to bringing aid to communities impacted by the recent earthquake in Chile. The earthquake is one of the largest ever recorded, resulting in more than 800 deaths and leaving 2 million people displaced. Three emergency grants have already been awarded, each for US$10,000, to Districts T-1, T-2 and T-3 in Chile. District T-3 includes the city of Concepcion, one of the hardest hit areas in the country. Visit the LCIF Web sitefor the latest news.

November – Lions Diabetes Awareness Opportunities...
Diabetes prevention is proven, possible and powerful. Eating healthier and getting 30 minutes of physical activity five days a week are two simple lifestyle changes that can delay or prevent diabetes.
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and ready for the upcoming Holiday Season. This year we are embarking on our most challenging Someone Cares Soup Kitchen campaign ever! $50,000 in 50 Days! The $50,000 will be used to provide 450 backpacks to people living on the streets (with the basic items for survival), 1,200 Holiday dinners, Children's toys and provide operating funds to help continue serving 400+ meals a day to people in need.
The Someone Cares Soup Kitchen needs your help!
November 30, 2010
Young and old, there are so many people that go to bed hungry and without a roof over their
heads. In fact, more than 40% of the homeless and hungry are children and 20% are seniors
that come to the Soup Kitchen each and every day. They need our help! These are people that
are mothers/fathers/daughters/sons/sisters/brothers. It so sad to think that for many of the
young children they do not know anything different than the Soup Kitchen and for many of the older people that they were once a very productive member of society that never thought in a million years that they would be eating at a
soup kitchen later in life. The Someone Cares Soup Kitchen is a place for a hot, nutritious meal while receiving some much needed heartfelt love from other homeless/hungry people and the staff.
I need your help! The Someone Cares Soup Kitchen has had their hardest year so far. Donations have been way down and the number of people needing a hot meal has continued to exponentially increase. They need your help more than ever!! We need to raise $50,000 in 50 Days! You can make a donation by check made out to Someone Cares and send to:
